A letter from Liam's Mom, Katey Lawson Welcome to Liam's Foundation! As you travel through our website you may recognize under our NEWS AND EVENTS page that we haven't updated it yet with our most recent accomplishments of 2008. I am happy to say that the reason for this is due to the fact that we have been busy at work with our statewide Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care (PPHC) Task Force! To update you on this information, I thought it would be more simplified if I summarized it here for you. On January 12, 2008 the PPHC Task Force convened under the leadership of the Honorable Estelle Richman, Secretary of the Department of Public Welfare in Harrisburg. Both my mom and myself served on the task force; mom as a co-facilitator for the Pain and Symptom Management subcommittee and myself as one of five co-chairs overseeing the production and direction of the task force's final report and Executive Summary. |
